SALA Exhibition Coming Soon

Only a few weeks to go until the SALA exhibition at the Adelaide South West Community Centre. Here is the most recent painting which will go in the exhibition, from my trip to the Flinders Ranges in May. It is possible to really see the bones of the earth in that part of the world.

I am having a serious phase of rocks, cliffs and stone. Perhaps it is the baking dry Adelaide summer that has brought this on; paint what you see, what you feel, what you are thinking about and this is what happens. It’s 44 degrees today. Then there are always my water paintings for contrast.

I currently have two paintings in the Victor Harbor Rotary Art Exhibition. The one illustrated here shows the morning light through the leaves of a golden ash tree. The exhibition is up until Saturday 18th January. I drove down there yesterday to see it in situ and was fascinated to notice that the exhibition has a “naughty corner” for non-compliant entries. My paintings, I hasten to add, are in the main section, first aisle on the right as one goes in.
